• Summer Camp to offer a fun experiential week for children to learn about Tourism, Retail, Culinary Arts, Events and Hospitality
  • Camp programme to run from 7 - 18 July and will include sessions at Dubai Sports World

Dubai: The Dubai College of Tourism (DCT), an institution established by Dubai’s Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), has announced the launch of its Summer Camp, which will be hosted for young students at the college campus in July. With the aim of introducing young students to the range of courses available at the College across its five core disciplines – Tourism, Retail, Culinary Arts, Events and Hospitality, the camp will also give participants an opportunity to learn about Dubai’s position as a leading tourism and cultural destination through a programme of classroom-based activities combined with fun, educational outings.

The DCT Summer Camp will run from 7 - 18 July for students aged 10 - 13 years where they can enroll for either the first week, the second week or for the full duration of the camp (Sunday – Thursday).

Each day will be dedicated to one of the five vocational courses available through the college, giving participants a taster of what they could learn as a student at DCT with activities designed to encourage curiosity and engaged learning. In addition to the classroom sessions and hands-on training provided on campus, students will also enjoy field trips to popular indoor tourism attractions, giving them valuable insight into the emirate’s diverse destination offering. A key element of the camp will be two visits per week to Dubai Sports World, a key fixture in the city’s year-round events calendar. All students will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of activities at the emirate’s largest indoor summer sports venue at Dubai World Trade Centre.

Commenting on the launch of the Summer Camp, Essa Bin Hadher, General Manager of DCT, said: “As parents search for summer camps that are engaging and educational for their children this summer, Dubai College of Tourism is pleased offer a Summer Camp for a unique learning experience. Following the success of our first Spring Tourism Camp earlier this year, our programme aims to create awareness of the College and the various courses on offer for students of different age groups, as well as the range of career choices that await DCT graduates. Students at the DCT Summer Camp will not only learn what life is like at our College facility, but they will also gain an understanding of the various aspects of Dubai’s tourism industry. The Summer Camp will provide young students with the opportunity to navigate new experiences within a safe and supportive environment which will focus on positive reinforcement through sports with the support of our partners at Dubai Sports World.”

DCT Summer Camp fees are AED 800 for one week (Sunday to Thursday) and AED 1,400 for two weeks (Sunday to Thursday). Classroom training for participants will be provided at DCT’s new purpose-built college facility at Dubai Tourism’s headquarters located in One Central at Dubai World Trade Centre.
