A Kuwaiti firm will build a solar power plant for Zain Jordan in the Jordanian capital Amman, the firm said in a statement on Sunday.

Kuwait City-based Alternative Energy Projects Company (AEPO), an affiliate of Kuwait Projects Company (KIPCO), said it signed an agreement with Kawar Investment Company, which is owned by Jordan's Kawar Group to develop and operate the project.

The project is intended to cater for Zain Jordan's energy needs from clean renewable energy sources, said AEPO's General Manager Hassan Qassim in the statement without providing additional details.
