Cairo, Egypt: In partnership with the Ministry of Youth, thyssenkrupp, the world leader in industrial engineering solutions, celebrated the first edition of the Entrepreneurial Training Program - ETP, with the graduation of 50 students from various governorates. The ceremony was in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ashraf Sobhy Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports, and Mr. Andreas Beckers - CEO and Executive Board Member for thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions Egypt.
The five year program aims to graduate two groups annually and to employ outstanding talents in the company, focusing on empowering the fresh engineering talents with entrepreneurial and business competencies, thus qualifying them to successfully establish and manage their industrial projects and businesses.
The graduation ceremony was also attended by, Mr. Walid Ahmed CFO of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions Egypt, Major General Ismail Al-Far, Executive Director of the Ministry of Youth, and Ms. Manal Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Head of the Central Administration for Projects and Youth Training, Mr. Jan Notter CEO of the German Arab chamber or commerce, and Mr Philippe Maupai, Head of Science Department at the German Embassy in Cairo.
“We are proud of our partnership with thyssenKrupp Industrial Solutions, and today, the celebration of the first group of graduates from this exceptional program, inaugurated last February.” Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, Minister of Youth in Egypt, commented. “The Entrepreneurial Training Program (ETP) comes under President Abdel Fattah el Sisi’s orientation towards Egypt’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of 2030. Moreover, the program contributes directly to the eighth pillar, focusing on creating productive employment and decent work for all, promoting medium, small and micro enterprises, and encouraging self-employment and entrepreneurship.’’

Also commenting, Ms. Manal Jamal, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Youth and Head of the Central Administration for Projects and Youth Training: “Reducing unemployment and creating productive job opportunities through training and development, are the most important features of the economic reform, currently taking place. Our mission is to provide decent and sustainable job opportunities for the youth, and to support their skills to become entrepreneurs and project owners, hence this program designed with thyssenkrupp. The ETP helps young talents build their capabilities and business acumen, allowing them to pursue job opportunities in prominent companies across Egypt, and provide them with the knowledge and training necessary to unlock their own skills."
Walid Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer and Board Member of thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions Egypt, commented: "The graduation of the young calibres is just a start. Our main goal is to build industrial mindsets capable of leading large scale projects that support the Egyptian economy, and ensure the continuous development of the new republic. Also, our company supports the projects submitted by the graduates, which will be an addition to Egypt’s efforts towards development, in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The ETP is designed to generate employment opportunities for young engineering talents by building their capacities and business acumen to allow them to pursue job and career opportunities in top engineering consultancies and companies around Egypt and provide them with the knowledge and skill sets needed to open their own practice. The program specifically targets rare engineering talents in less privileged neighborhoods and governorates. Students enrolled in the ETP are fully sponsored by thyssenkrupp and receive special training, mentoring and coaching from top engineering and business talents from thyssenkrupp’s local and global teams and external business and entrepreneurial consultants. The top ten talents of this round have been offered employment opportunities within thyssenkrupp.
