Cairo, Egypt: Majid Al Futtaim Cinemas, the dedicated cinema arm of Majid Al Futtaim, the leading shopping mall, communities, retail, and leisure pioneer across the Middle East, Africa and Asia has announced an impressive slate of upcoming movies which are sure to captivate audiences and reignite the cinema industry in the wake of mandated closures and the absence of new content. Following the release of Tenet, which marked the first big-budget theatrical release since March, admissions across VOX Cinemas in Egypt increased significantly versus the previous week, demonstrating that cinema is set to make a major comeback.

Christopher Nolan’s Tenet (currently showing), one of the most anticipated movies of the year has also hit the big screen. In a break from tradition, the espionage thriller launched in overseas territories, including the Middle East, ahead of the US allowing UAE audiences to be amongst the first to see the movie. Nolan wrote and directed the film utilizing a mixture of IMAX and 70mm film to bring the story to the big screen and cinemagoers can watch it in IMAX format at VOX Cinemas for maximum impact.
Cinema lovers can also enjoy Mulan (currently showing), a live-action adaptation of Disney’s classic animation. Audience members who appreciate murder mysteries can look forward to Death on the Nile (October) in which Kenneth Branagh reprises both his directorial role and that of the iconic detective Poirot in the film adaptation of the Agatha Christie novel.
To ensure that cinemagoers have a safe and comfortable experiences, VOX Cinemas in Egypt has introduced extensive precautionary measures including disinfecting auditoriums using fogging machines and sanitizing surfaces after every guest interaction. The capacity in auditoriums has also been reduced and seats next to a guest’s selection will be left vacant to allow for physical distancing.
