Dubai, UAE: Union Coop – the largest Consumer Cooperative in the UAE hoisted 37 national flags high above its branches and Commercial Centers in the Emirate of Dubai, expressing their loyalty to the nation and the wise leadership. Every year Union Coop celebrates the occasion by paying tribute to the Founder leaders and their successors who immortalized the values of the UAE National flag.

Emphasizing the importance of this day, the CEO of Union Coop H.E. Khalid Humaid Bin Diban Al Falasi had this to say: - “Flag Day is a national occasion where all of us relive the loving memories of our founding leaders Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, and their capable successors, who paved the way for the foundation of this great nation of the UAE. Today we also honor the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan- the President of the UAE, H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum- the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE, and ruler of Dubai and H.H. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan- Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, who carried the legacy and established UAE as a supreme role model for progressive development."

“Spirit of the UAE flows through the hearts of the people who reside here – Residents and Citizens alike, especially our brave soldiers who sacrifice everything to preserve the dignity of the national flag and pride of our wise leaders,” highlighted Al Falasi, talking about how the people of UAE have also played a pivotal role.

For his part, Dr. Suhail Al Bastaki, Director of Happiness & Marketing Department, Union Coop said: - “Flag day is an auspicious occasion for us to reflect on the strong bond of unity and patriotism that exists between UAE Nationals and Residents. On this Day, we not only take a brief look back at the journey of this great nation and its people, but we pledge our allegiance to a much brighter future as well.”

Al Bastaki stresses on Union Coop’s role as a national institution that works tirelessly to fulfil the vision of the wise leaders of the UAE.

“Our sense of responsibility towards the nation and its residents is evident from the fact that we were among the first firms in the UAE to deploy necessary anti-covid19 measures in all commercial centers and branches to keep our valued consumers and staff safe. We ensured that the consumers always had access to quality products under any circumstances by ensuring a steady supply even during lockdown situation,” says al Bastaki.

All the necessary Covid-19 measures and social distancing protocols were followed during the ‘Flag Hoisting ceremony’.
