Dubai: Seamless Middle East: the region’s leading conference and exhibition for payments and commerce saw another successful launch day at the World Trade Centre in Dubai. Over 400 Speakers from across the world and the GCC will continue to speak at the 19th edition of the event until the 11th April 2019.

Inaugurated by Ambassador Mohamed Al Rabea, Secretary General, Council of Arab Economic Unity, Seamless boasts 400 speakers, with topics ranging from safety within the digital payment sphere to embracing digital transformation in the Middle East. The event is run under the patronage of His Highness Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nayan, Deputy Prime Minster, Minister of Interior who also attended the conference amongst thousands of others.

Representatives from title sponsor Dubai CommerCity were also present. Amna Lootah, Assistant Director General – Finance, Commercial & Customer Relations Division Foster of DAFZA Innovation & Future Unit commented: “The e-commerce, fintech and online retail industries are being revolutionised by digital transformation and technology. Artificial intelligence, blockchain technology and virtual business licenses are now being implemented, leading to the creation of a smart commerce sector which involves businesses of all sizes and from all corners of the globe. We are participating in and sponsoring Seamless Middle East once again this year to highlight these growing trends and emerging market needs.”

“We are showcasing the developments being made at Dubai CommerCity, the MENA region’s first dedicated e-commerce free zone which will provide all of the business, social and logistics requirements to drive future growth within this fast-paced industry. It is an exciting time to be a part of this sector as rapid growth is predicted, new solutions are being created and tremendous opportunities are emerging as a result.”

With an unprecedented era of tech-enabled innovation and change underway, the event hosting over 350 technology providers poses as an essential platform for businesses to immerse themselves in the latest ideas and future-focused trends across payments, fintech, retail, e-commerce and identity.

The event also witnessed many launches on the day of its opening, including the announcement of leading technology solution company Emaratech’s latest online venture Dubaistore, which is set to be the first local online marketplace to focus on SMEs and home-based businesses. The vision for DubaiStore will be an online marketplace for all qualifying businesses in the emirate of Dubai, focusing primarily on promoting businesses without the possibility of direct competition between it and the sellers, since it will not own or sell any products of its own.

Leading global payments systems company Financial Software and Systems (FSS) will also showcase the launch of FSS Voice Commerce, a real-time banking platform that offers customers with banking interactions that are both contextualised and personalised. The software will enable banks to deepen customer engagement by delivering interactive service experiences, using machine learning capabilities to learn behavioral patterns, thereby improving interaction with time.

“Coming into the 19th year of Seamless Middle East, it has been incredible to see just how much change this event has undergone over the years. The banking, retail and government sectors in the Middle East have been at the forefront of innovation, forcing the event to expand its understanding of what it means to be in the industry. Today Seamless covers the digital transformation of everything from e-commerce, fintech, payments to identity across the digital economy, and I have no doubt it will continue to grow and expand with the industry. We extend our gratitude to the speakers and sponsors who have ensured the event has gone from strength to strength,” commented Joseph Ridley, General Manager.

Seamless Middle East takes place on the 10th and 11th of April 2019, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. The exhibition is free-to-attend. Visitors may register on-site.
