Government of Dubai Media Office: Five private schools in Dubai have welcomed a select group of 92 exceptional Emirati students as part of the second cycle of the Mohammed bin Rashid Distinguished Students Program. The Program, which encourages Emirati students in Dubai to apply for scholarships to study in some of Dubai’s top-rated schools, targets students from Grades 4 to secondary school.
For the second consecutive year, the Program is being rolled out in partnership with multiple government entities including The Executive Council of Dubai, Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) and Knowledge Fund alongside private school operators in Dubai.
The Program was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during the Future Dialogue session held to discuss the Dubai 2021 Plan. The initiative has so far benefited a total of 324 students.
Fatma Al Marri, CEO of Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) in Dubai said, “Parental engagement is key to the success of this Program and we are pleased to see very strong interest from Emirati parents. The interest the Program has received is reflected in the large number of applications this year. We are very positive that the Program will continue to benefit students and support their overall development as part of the effort to develop the future skills of young Emiratis.”
She added, “The Program, which caters to students from Grade 4 to high school and partners with schools rated ‘Good’ or higher, provides excellent Arabic and Islamic learning opportunities for Emirati families.”
Hesham Khalifa Al Qaizi, CEO of Knowledge Fund said, "The support we have extended to the Program for the second consecutive year reflects our commitment to develop education in Dubai and enhance access to education for Emirati students. Together with other government entities, we are committed to reaching the goals set out in the Dubai 2021 Plan and helping Emirati families meet their aspirations.”
Dr. Amna Al Maazmi, Director of Policy & Strategy for Social Development at The Executive Council of Dubai said, “The Dubai 2021 Plan focuses on making Dubai a hub for creative and talented individuals by increasing access to outstanding education. We appreciate the efforts of private schools in providing excellent education for Emirati students at various levels and look forward to the participation of more schools in the years to come.”
Educators from participating schools spoke about the positive interactions they had with Emirati students studying at their school.

We are looking forward to seeing them grow as Kings' students in the forthcoming years and expanding our shared ambitions for this Program across all of the Kings' Schools.”
