The delegation of 3, led by Houssam Nasrawin, met with business entities including SMEs, large companies, investors and public entities in France, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Belgium and the UK.

The purpose of the trip was to encourage European companies to develop their activities in the GCC region and to source investments opportunities in Europe for GCC investors like HNWIs, Family offices and Private equity firms.

During the roadshow, Houssam Nasrawin, president of Arab Business Leaders was also speaker at three business events about the Middle East.

In London, the during the Private Investor Middle East Forum, he presented the ways to attract GCC investors to Europe. He insisted on a need for a stronger partnership between public and private entities in Europe to encourage GCC investors to come. He also participated in a round table about private equity in Arab countries where he stressed the current difficulties faced by this way of financing but also his expectations that private equity will play a major role in the coming decade in the region

In Paris, he was speaker during a gathering with French companies to present the opportunities offered by the Gulf countries and mainly for the Expo 2020 in Dubai.

He ended his trip with a conference in Antwerp at the Arab Belgian Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce where he delivered a speech about “How can European companies succeed in GCC countries?”. He mainly insisted on the numerous opportunities that GCC countries offer to European companies in various sectors such as new technologies, finance, retail, healthcare and education. He underlined the role played by culture to succeed in the region and the necessity for European companies to be well prepared before penetrating the GCC region. Despite a slowdown in some GCC economies, he expressed confidence in the future as he considers that it is only restructuring and transition processes towards a more mature and diversified economies.
