Riyadh -   The Saudi Stock Exchange (Tadawul) saw a positive performance in June.

The Tadawul All Shares Index (TASI) went up by 1.88% or 153.1 points and ended the month at the level of 8,314.19 points.

Market capitalization increased by 1.26% or SAR 24.7 billion, to a total SAR 1.98 trillion ($528.6 billion).

As for the market sectors, 17 ended the month in green, with energy and commercial services leading the gainers with 7.2% and 5.9%, respectively.

Heavy-weight banks, telecom, and materials sector indices added 3.1%, 0.44%, and 0.07%, respectively.

On the other hand, traded values declined by 18.8%, registering an average of SAR 3.09 billion per session, compared with SAR 3.8 billion in May, with average volumes dropping 23.7% and reaching 128.9 million shares, down from 168.9 million shares.

Although the inclusion in the MSCI emerging markets index positvely affected the Saudi market, trading activity was affected by the eid holiday.

Total traded volumes decreased to 1.9 billion shares, down from 3.7 billion shares in May.

Turnovers also fell to SAR 46.4 billion in June, compared with SAR 83.9 billion in the previous month.
