CAIRO- Egypt has procured 3.1 million tonnes of local wheat so far in the current harvest season, the supply ministry said in Wednesday, which runs from mid April until June.

The ministry has said it aims to procure 3.6 million tonnes in total this season, and President Abdel-Fatah al-Sisi has urged farmers to sell as much as possible to the government.
