Bahrain yesterday recorded 655 new cases of Covid-19, alongside 588 recoveries and two fatalities.

Two Bahraini men, aged 57 and 91, died from the novel coronavirus yesterday, taking the death toll to 67.

The 91-year-old man is the oldest fatality recorded in Bahrain since the start of the outbreak.The Health Ministry revealed that of yesterday’s 655 new cases, 379 were expatriate workers, 264 contacts of local cases, and 12 travel-related.

It said that an additional 588 people recovered from Covid-19 yesterday, taking the total number of recoveries to 17,450. The ministry added that of the 5,545 active cases, 117 are receiving treatment and 36 are in critical condition.

Bahrain has so far registered a total of 23,062 cases including active cases, recoveries and deaths. The kingdom has also conducted 494,028 tests for Covid-19.
