RIYADH: The number of deaths from COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia continued to decrease on Saturday with the health ministry recording 21 more deaths from the disease.

The number of new cases announced also decreased with 1,573 infections recorded in the Kingdom over the past 24 hours.

Of the new cases, 102 were recorded in the capital Riyadh, 89 in the holy city of Makkah, 72 in Dammam and 55 in Madinah.

The total number of recoveries in the Kingdom increased to 237,548 after 1,890 more patients recovered from the virus.

A total of 2,887 people have succumbed to the virus in the Kingdom so far.

There have been no reports of coronavirus infections at the holy sites of Hajj on the fourth day of the pilgrimage.
