AMMAN The Ministry of Health on Saturday approved five new laboratories in Amman to conduct testing for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19), in addition to the two laboratories previously approved for testing suspected cases through medical teams taking samples from residences.

The move comes out of the recommendation of the National Anti-Pandemic Committee and is within specific criteria adopted for this purpose, the ministry said in a statement carried by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.

The statement added that the newly approved laboratories are Sultan Labs, Mega Labs, Quest Labs, the Specialty Hospital Labs and Accuracy Labs, in addition to BioLabs and MedLab, bringing the number of laboratories accredited by the ministry to seven for conducting coronavirus tests.

The ministry added that the price for tests at any of these seven laboratories is set at JD55, according to Petra.
