ArabFinance: Egypt detected 178 new COVID-19 infections on October 21st, taking the total to 105,883, according to the health ministry's statement.

The new div marks the highest daily count since September 8th.

The health ministry reported 13 new deaths, bringing the total deaths from the virus to 6,155.

Some 103 new patients had been discharged from hospitals, bringing the total number of recoveries to 98,516.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said at a cabinet meeting on the same day that citizens need to continue to take precautionary measures in public places, and instructed officials to crack down on violators.
