Visitors to Abu Dhabi's Corniche Beach will only be allowed to swim in its waters from 6am until sunset during the summer, according to an update by Abu Dhabi City Municipality.

The notice, issued on Monday in conjunction with the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), stated that the change in swimming timings would remain effective throughout the months of July, August and September.

The Corniche Beach in Abu Dhabi was one of three public beaches that the emirate recently reopened with strict guidelines for beachgoers, including mandatory masks.

The move was the first stage in the reopening of all DMT's amenities, which had been closed since March due to the Covid-19 outbreak.
