UAE - His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qassimi, Crown Prince of Sharjah and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah and Chairman of the Sharjah Executive Committee, issued an Executive Decree No.39 of 2019 that makes it mandatory for all government departments in Sharjah to first get approval from the Sharjah Media Office prior to using services offered by social media influencers.

According to the decree, all government and semi-government entities or any other companies founded and owned by the government of Sharjah or private firms affiliated to the Sharjah government and wanting services offered by social media influencers - be it advertising or promoting their services activities or products, or others - should first get approval from the Sharjah Media Office prior to signing contracts with the social media influencers or using their services.


The decree came into effect from December 4, 2019.
