UAE residents travelling to Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) won't need an approval from the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICA), an airline has told travel agents.

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) sent a notification to travel agents saying: "All passengers with valid residency visas . (don't) require ICA approval arriving to AUH."

The airline said all other requirements for travel like getting a Covid-19-negative test remain the same. It also said the move could be "amended anytime".

When contacted, a spokesperson for PIA Abdullah Khan confirmed the news and said the airline is taking bookings from Pakistani passengers with valid UAE residence visas.

Khaleej Times has reached out to the ICA for a confirmation.
