Question: I am on a visit visa in Dubai. My passport is expiring next month and I still haven’t found a job. Will I be able to renew my passport in Dubai if I am not a resident?

In response to your query, it may be noted that the foreign missions (embassies and consulates) of certain countries provide their respective citizens residing in the UAE with passport renewal services.

The requirements for availing the passport renewal service may vary from one country’s foreign mission to another.

Therefore, while the foreign mission of a country may offer passport renewal services to its citizens who have a valid UAE residency visa or are in the UAE on a visit visa or if the citizen has received an employment offer and is able to submit the original employment offer letter along with the passport renewal application, the same services may not be offered by the foreign mission of another country.

In view of the foregoing and taking into consideration that you have not mentioned the country of which you are a citizen of, it may be prudent to approach the embassy or consulate of the country you are a citizen of for further clarification.
