Cairo –  Bilateral trade between Egypt and South Korea reached $1.5 billion in 2019, the Egyptian Minister of Trade and Industry, Nevine Gamea, said.

Goods exchanged between the two countries included engineering products, electronics, furniture, ready-made garments, chemical products, fertilisers, and medical industries, Gamea added in a statement on Tuesday.

Gamea met with the South Korean Ambassador to Cairo, Hong Jin-wook, to explore the possible means for strengthening economic relations between the two countries.

South Korea has invested a total of $570 million in 181 projects in Egypt, covering industry, services, construction, communications and information technology, tourism, and agriculture sectors, she noted.
