Dubai: Pirelli, a symbol of Italian industrial excellence, has appointed Alberico Avogadro as General Manager for the Middle East Market, an appointment that will drive the premium tyre manufacturer’s growth across the region in the coming years, leveraging its solid Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partnerships with leading luxury car brands and local distributors.

Avogadro is a 22-year Pirelli veteran with a career spanning the Benelux region, North-East Europe and Egypt in Marketing and Sales, and he oversee the firm’s mission to roll out new customer-focused services that enhance the tyre buying experience in the key UAE Prestige and Premium segments and across the region.

Pirelli recently opened its first flagship P ZERO ™ World in the region, in Dubai, only the fourth branch of the store, following the success of its stores in automotive powerhouses Munich, Los Angeles and Monte Carlo.

Commenting on his appointment, Avogadro said: “I’m excited by the challenge that lies ahead. The Middle East market, particularly the UAE and GCC, is extremely competitive and requires very specific approach to engage our preferred audiences. Pirelli’s world-renowned engineering and technological innovations together with our commitment to service excellence will continue to push us forward and drive our growth.

“Our strong partnerships with key distributors will continue to play a crucial role as we anticipate the needs of our clients and consumers, and we will be utilising the latest advanced geo-marketing tools to carefully define the best locations to develop our retail,” he added.

Avogadro will lead a team focused on developing new strategic partnerships and increasing brand recognition while strengthening Pirelli’s position as a regional market leader in the prestige segment where it currently has 50 per cent OEM market share.

Italian national Avogadro has a Bachelors’ degree in Economics, and he joined Pirelli in 1996 in the marketing department. During his two-decade career he has developed a strong international business background and knowledge of four languages. Prior to taking the reins in the Middle East, Avogadro managed Pirelli’s Business Moto unit in the Asia-Pacific region.
