National Bank of Kuwait continues to deliver on its commitment to introduce the latest technologies and advancements to enhance its banking services and offer customers a fast and convenient experience in line with the highest standards of quality and security.

Following the series of advanced services it has introduced, NBK has now invested in the Drone technology and has started testing it for quality, efficiency and security, and will officially launch Drone-based services after receiving the necessary approvals.

Once the testing phase is completed successfully, the Drone will serve as a mean of transportation between the bank’s branches, and its use will be further expanded in the future. The team overseeing the new technology ensures that the services that would be provided by the Drone observe the highest safety standards as all precautions have been taken into account.

Speaking of the new investment, Ahmad Al-Radwan from Consumer Banking Group, National Bank of Kuwait said: “We are always investing in the latest banking technologies while adhering to the highest standards of safety and privacy. The employment of the Drone technology in our operations comes as part of these investments to support communication and exchange between branches. We are still in the testing phase to ensure it meets our standards.”

Al-Radwan added: “As banking services advance globally, NBK ensures to maintain its leading position in the region when it comes to the latest advancements that satisfy the needs of our customers.”

Al-Radwan reaffirmed that the Drone technology will serve as a means of transportation, providing speed and ease to complete transactions between branches. NBK will make use of the drones in permitted areas after receiving approvals from official authorities.

NBK is the first bank in the Middle East to explore the new unique technology. The launch comes as part of latest services introduced to better serve customers, including the NBK SelfiePay through which customers can authenticate their online transactions by a simple face or fingerprint recognition. The Bank has also introduced the NBK Quick Pay feature on the NBK Mobile Banking App which allows customers to receive amounts or make payments immediately even on weekends or public holidays. The NBK Mobile Banking App also features the e-Payments Service which enables customers to make electronic payments for purchases at a large number of local and international companies such as telecoms, entertainment and more.

The Bank has also upgraded its ATMs and Cash Deposit Machines (CDMs), allowing customers to take advantage of new services such as cardless withdrawals by simply using their Civil ID or mobile numbers, as well as deposits thanks to the NBK Tap & Pay Debit Card or any other card that provides the feature, all to ensure an easy and enjoyable banking experience.

The Bank is committed to offering its service round the clock in addition to continuing its investments in the new technologies that enable it to maintain its leading position in launching advanced services.
