ABU DHABI, UAE – The Abu Dhabi School of Government (ADSG), and Coursera, the world’s leading online learning platform, today signed a partnership agreement to provide professional training and development programs to more than 60,000 Abu Dhabi government employees in critical skills such as data science, Artificial Intelligence, and digital transformation. This innovative partnership will be a key pillar of the Abu Dhabi School of Government, which aims to close current and emerging skills gaps within the UAE, link citizens to jobs, and provide the government workforce with unparalleled access to online courses from the world’s top universities and instructors.

Starting in February 2019, government employees in Abu Dhabi will have unlimited access to the Coursera platform, specifically curated for different government departments and staff levels, as well as the needs of Emirati nationals. The courses, produced by 170 of the top universities and industry partners in the world, prioritize in-demand leadership and technical skills such as data science, artificial intelligence, computer science, and IT. In addition to high-quality content, HR officials will have access to Coursera analytics to track learners' progress, measure utilization, and benchmark their skills against other governments and companies globally. To make the content more accessible, 70 courses will be offered with Arabic subtitles and 30 fully translated.

Launched in 2017, the program trains government employees and citizens across the United States, Singapore, the Philippines, India, Australia, France, Colombia, Egypt, Pakistan, and Kazakhstan.
