Saudi Arabia's 90th National Day celebrations started a few days earlier for travellers at Dubai International Airport (DXB) with the resumption of scheduled flights between Dubai and multiple cities across Saudi Arabia on September 20.

Saudi Arabia was DXB's second largest destination country by passenger volume in 2019, which totalled 6.3 million.

Saudi Arabia's national carrier Saudia resumed services on Sunday (September 20) with a total of five daily flights from DXB to Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam, while more services by other carriers are planned over the coming days and weeks.

The celebration of the National Day, which falls on September 23, reflects the deep socio-cultural ties between the UAE and Saudi Arabia, which go beyond trade, commerce and air connectivity, said a DXB statement.
