The line will provide a reliable railway network for residents of New Cairo, the Sixth of October, El-Alamein, Borg El-Arab, and Alexandria.

The project also contributes to the development of the east coast on the Red Sea, accelerating the speed of development in the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

It will also support the development of the Wadi El-Natrun axis, the Dabaa axis, and the northwestern coast, as well as the transport of goods from the port of Ain Sokhna on the Red Sea to Alexandria on the Mediterranean.
