Cairo - The Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, inaugurated a new natural gas fuelling station (Cargas - Chillout) on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road.

El-Molla also inspected another new natural gas station (Gastec - Chillout) on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, expected to be operated in the upcoming period, according to a statement on Sunday.

The ministry plans to increase the number of natural gas stations to 1,000 throughout the country.

There are currently 340 natural gas stations that serve about 380,000 vehicles that operate on natural gas and there are 450 under-construction stations, expected to become operational during the coming few months.
