Dubai – Mubasher: The number of travellers passed through points of entry and exit in the emirate of Dubai reached 15.35 million in the first quarter of 2019, the Emirates News Agency (WAM) reported on Saturday.

A total of 13.6 million passengers travelled by air in Q1, while 1.37 million and 380,000 travelled by land and sea, respectively, director-general of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affair (GDRFA), Mohammad Ahmad Al Merri, said

Some 1.94 million passengers used 122 smart gates in Dubai airports, the top official added.

Last month, data published by Reed Travel Exhibitions ahead of Arabian Travel Market (ATM) 2019 showed that the number of transit passengers at Dubai airport reached up 63% of the 89 million passengers who passed through the airport during the full-year 2018.
