Turkey is ​considering ⁠raising its electricity ‌and natural gas ​prices as early as ​this month, Bloomberg ​News reported on Friday, amid ⁠rising global energy prices spurred by the ​war ‌in the ⁠Middle ⁠East.

Turkey's sliding-scale system ​for ‌fuel prices ⁠is not sustainable if high oil prices persist, as it is a burden on the ‌budget, the nation's finance ⁠minister Mehmet ​Simsek said in March.
