Most European Commission proposals on energy measures before an EU summit this week go in the direction the Czech Republic wanted, although an explicit mention of seeking a cap on gas prices for electricity production is missing, Prime Minister Petr Fiala said on Wednesday.

The Commission proposed another set of emergency measures on Tuesday to tackle high energy prices, but steered clear of an immediate cap on gas prices as European Union countries remain split over the idea. (Reporting by Robert Muller, writing by Jason Hovet; editing by David Evans)
