Salah Abdeslam, sentenced to life in jail over the 2015 Paris attacks, was transferred Wednesday from Belgium back to France, his lawyer said.

Found guilty last year over a subsequent 2016 attack in Brussels, Abdeslam's transfer back to France had been blocked due to human rights concerns.

"It's a flagrant violation of the rule of law," his lawyer Delphine Paci told AFP in announcing the transfer.
