RIYADH — The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture (MEWA) has revealed that the investment volume of the Taif Rose in the Saudi market has amounted to more than SR64 million.

MEWA said that there are about 550 million Taif Rose being picked and harvested from the Sarawat mountain in Taif governorate.

It is noteworthy that the Taif Rose Festival’s basket has entered the Guinness Book of Records as the world’s largest rose basket, which carried more than 84.5 roses of approximately 26 species of the finest kinds of roses.

The Ministry said that there are more than 910 farms for Taif Rose spread over several places in Taif governorate, which extends from the heights of Al-Hada and Al-Shafa mountains, and Wadi Mahram (Mahram valley), all the way to Al-Talhat, Wadi Al-Amq, Wadi Al-Bani and others.

About 70 factories and labs work to extract and manufacture more than 80 product derived from roses to manufacture various kinds of aromatic products and body care products, which are popular and have a huge turnout in the markets.
