Kuwait’s Public Authority for Housing Welfare (PAHW) is expected to sign the development agreement for two private schools located in Jaber Al-Ahmad City and Sabah Al-Ahmad City in the first quarter of 2023.

PAHW is procuring the project as Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).

“The technical evaluation has been approved by the Board of Directors, the financial envelopes have been opened, and the financial evaluation of the bids is underway,” a source aware of the project details told Zawya Projects.

He added that project award is likely in the first quarter.

Jaber Al-Ahmad Private School (J6-F) located in the eastern part of the commercial services strip in Jaber Al-Ahmad City while Sabah Al-Ahmad private school (S4-F) located in Sabah Al-Ahmad City.

The schools would be developed on design, build, finance, operation, maintenance and transfer (DBFOMT) basis with an operating period of 35 years.

The bidders for the DBFOMT contract includes First Kuwaiti for Educational Services, Al-Tawheed Islamic Arabic School, Injazzat Real Estate Development, Sama Educational Company, Family Group For Education Company, EDuGlobe Corporation, and Fawsec Educational Company, officials from three companies confirmed.

Jaber Al-Ahmad City private school would be developed in an area of 9,297.380 sqm while Sabah Al Ahmad City private school will span an area of 17,694.600 sqm.

The project is slated for completion by the third quarter of 2025, the source said, adding that his estimate of the project cost is $60 million.
