Azizi Developments, a leading private developer in the UAE, said it has signed with KEO International Consultants for the masterplan consultancy of its recently acquired 15-million-sq-ft plot of land within the prestigious Golf District in the rapidly growing Dubai South.

As per the deal, Azizi will be the master developer, in charge of constructing the buildings, roads and all infrastructure of the mega AED20 billion ($5.4 billion) mixed-use development that will feature luxury villas, residences, commercial and entertainment space.

The newly acquired land, which is part of Golf District, is strategically positioned in the emirate’s growth corridor, with Dubai speedily expanding towards the south.

Situated alongside Emirates Road (E611), built to link the emirates together while also providing convenient access points to Dubai’s other major highways and various points of interest, the plot of land is among the best connected in the southern part of the emirate, said the statement from Azizi.

With just a five-minute drive to the Al Maktoum International Airport, also known as Dubai World Central DWC, and few minutes away from the VIP Terminal, but without any air traffic above it, the land is outstandingly well positioned for a luxury community to be developed.

A key highlight of the project will be a one-of-its-kind 2-km-long air-conditioned, glass-covered, pedestrian-friendly boulevard which will have shopping areas, commercial space and movie theatres as well as restaurants featuring a wide range of the world’s cuisines in addition to other nightlife options.

With a total gross floor area (GFA) of 24 million sq ft, the project comprises kids’ play areas and ample underground carparking, it stated.

Azizi’s vision for the project is for it to become an innovative landmark destination – one of the UAE’s most unique and distinguished attractions – visited by over 100,000 people from outside of the community on a daily basis, said its Founder and Chairman Mirwais Azizi after signing the deal with KEO International Consultants COO Gregory Karpinski at a key ceremony held yesterday (January 4).

The ceremony was also attended by CEO Farhad Azizi, KEO Managing Director Infrastructure Sameer Daoud and other senior management executives.

As per the masterplan, many of the community’s residences and three- to five-star hotels will have direct access not only to the boulevard, but also to its large swimmable crystal lagoon with 3 km of beach-like shores and distinctive water features, and its vast parks with abundant greenery, he noted.

Moreover, with the project being an entire well-thought-through city, it will also feature schools, its own hospital, cycling and jogging tracks, and all that residents and visitors could wish for to cover their convenience, leisure, health, and well-being needs, said the officials on the occasion, he added.
