In-mall campaign highlights importance of regular vision testing

Kuwait City: 23 June, 2011 - Vision Express, a world leader in the provision of professional optical eyewear and eye testing services, together with ACUVUE® Brand Contact Lenses, by Johnson & Johnson Vision Care successfully hosted this moth an eye safety awareness educational campaign at The Avenues mall. The event highlighted the importance of regular vision testing and helped increase public awareness and clarify many misconceptions about eye health and safety.

During the weeklong event at The Avenues shoppers had an opportunity to stop at the special Vision Express and Acuvue booth for a free of charge prescreening service, and optical consultation. Over 300 initial prescreening tests were performed, and many were followed by a complete vision examination in the store. This special event helped shoppers ascertain their level of vision impairment and obtain professional consultations on the required vision correction measures, solutions and products.

"Vision testing and subsequent advice is tailored to the individual's needs and circumstances, such as age, lifestyle and other requirements," said Heather Jones, Training Manager at Vision Express. "Through our services provided at the booth, we can identify which contact lenses are best suited for a customer, while offering customers helpful advice on how to correctly wear and take care of their contact lenses. That's why we are here: to be with our clients, every step of the way."

During the event, Vision Express and Acuvue® also took the opportunity to talk to visitors and educate them about the use and care for contact lenses. The focus was on healthy, hygienic and safe contact lens wear. Vision Express professionals highlighted that careful attention is required when dealing with eyes, and lens care instructions were provided on the spot. Visitors were also introduced to a wide range of contact lenses offered by Acuvue® with each fitting based on an individual's special lifestyle and needs.

Saleem Marta, one of the Vision Express booth visitors, described his experience with the campaign: "It was great as I was given all the information that I needed to know. I pay tribute to the friendly, attentive and responsive team which educated me on the types of lenses that best suit me, taking into consideration main variables like the hot weather and other factors."

Visitors that needed vision correction were instantly attended to and were given trial samples of 1•DAY ACUVUE® TruEyeTM Brand Contact Lenses, which are designed with the importance of the eyes' health and comfort in mind.

Noor Iffath, another keen visitor, explained, "The test is very useful as it gives you an idea on the current condition of your eyes and what you should consider to take care of them. The feedback was good and I'm now on my way to the Vision Express store for a final eye check."
