Amman- Umniah announced its golden sponsorship of the MENA ICT Forum, which was held under the royal patronage of His Majesty King Abdullah II at the King Hussein Bin Talal Development Area business park in Amman, on the 10th and 11th of October 2010. The forum, which is entitled, 'Yesterday's Challenges, Tomorrow's Opportunities', was organized by the Information Technology Association (int@j) and the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology (MoICT).

The Forum's agenda will include discussions on the most pressing issues within the ICT sector in Jordan and the region including the MENA ecosystem, outsourcing, chattering classes, new trends, and social media applications on the Internet.

"We pride ourselves on sponsoring this valuable forum, which highlights Jordan's status as a regional ICT hub," said Mr. Hinnawi. "This year's forum is marked by the inclusion of all MENA countries, which enriched the participants' experience and broadened the range of addressed topics. We are pleased with the forum's success, which builds upon previous years' achievements in order to serve as a launching pad for the realization of the Jordanian and regional ICT sector's aspirations."

The MENA ICT Forum is the region's premier bi-annual industry event and offers ICT leaders a regional platform that allows for the sharing of experience, the pursuit of business and investment opportunities, as the showcasing of industry success stories. The forum also paves the way for the consolidation of efforts in the ICT field and the unification of the sector's objectives and development strategies.
