Leading process technology solutions provider ACWA Services has announced two major UK achievements to boost its existing global success story. The company has won contracts to install three new nitrate removal plants for Anglian Water, and has secured a coveted place on Scottish Water's nanofiltration and filtration supply framework contracts.
ACWA provides expertise and state-of-the-art solutions across the entire water and wastewater treatment spectrum. Among its major successes, the company has provided reverse osmosis systems for prestige desalination projects in the Middle East including the luxury Palm Jumeirah development in Dubai.
The wide range of ACWA Services' expertise is underlined by Anglian Water's decision to continue using its advanced NitreatTM counter-current continuous ion exchange technology to reduce nitrate levels in its problematic groundwater sources.
This award-winning solution was also at the heart of a recent contract for Yorkshire Water's Keldgate potable water treatment plant, where the nitrate removal system is the largest of its kind in the UK.
ACWA's wastewater expertise embraces sludge digestion and a recent UK contract has enabled Yorkshire Water to minimize the carbon footprint of its Naburn wastewater treatment works in York.
Further successes include the soaring demand worldwide for the company's Odour Control Systems including a new one in Abu Dhabi following ACWA's MBR plant for KAUST, KSA treating 30,000 m3/h and a 140,000 m3/h system for Thames Water, UK.
