The two industry leaders sign a five-year agreement
Tadweer (the Center of Waste Management - Abu Dhabi) and Bee’ah, the Middle East’s leading and award-winning environmental management company, announced a five-year partnership aimed at integrating and raising innovative waste management solutions and enhancing environmental sustainability for the city of Abu Dhabi. While the contract commenced on October 4th, the complete handover took place on the 4th of December 2016, which is when the full operations began.
The partnership will see the collaboration of Tadweer’s and Bee’ah’s specialists, creating a roadmap for innovations and waste management solutions on the eastern side of Abu Dhabi Island. The deal represents the first cooperative effort between the UAE’s two leading companies, which aim to increase the diversion rates and contribute to a more environmentally sustainable future for the city.
Commenting on the partnership, H.E Eisa Saif Al Qubaisi, General Manager of Tadweer said, “It is only through collaboration that we can provide optimal solutions for environmental sustainability. With a common goal, we are confident that through this partnership we will be able to accelerate technologies that will improve operations and forge solutions for sustainable communities.”

The partnership utilises state-of-the-art smart fleet and waste management system to enhance the collection services of areas served in Abu Dhabi. The system includes bin asset management, fleet monitoring, route optimization, driver performance management as well as incident management features. The features reduce the carbon footprint of its operational activities – in addition to the vehicles already being eco-friendly.
Bee’ah and Tadweer are united in their commitment to raising awareness and education on environmental issues and sustainability measures among the general public of Abu Dhabi. The partnership between the two entities is a broad-based effort to support and accelerate the use of environmentally preferable practices already underway in the nation.
Tadweer is the main governmental entity that handles all the activities related to the development of waste management services, from the collection, transport, treatment, and safe disposal in an efficient and economical way across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, as well as public health pest control and the development and implementation of waste reduction, reuse and sorting awareness programs. Tadweer also spares no effort to provide support and assistance for all events and occasions that aim to educate communities on the importance of preserving the environment and encourage them to exercise and adopt a proper environmental behavior, which would advance sustainable development.
