Cairo - The Egyptian Banking Institute (EBI), the training arm of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), announced the completion of the development and rennovation of its branches improving efficiency and the level of services offered to trainees and beneficiaries, thus achieving planned growth and expansion.
Mr. Abdel Aziz Nossier, Executive Director of the Egyptian Banking Institute said that"What we have achieved in the branches reflects the Institute's attention to the organizational aspects and the recent developments in light of the Central Bank of Egypt's directives and strategic plans for banking and financial training, coping with global development. The Institute is the initial gateway to Egypt and Africa to train and develop human capital and financial sector institutions”.
The renovation of the Egyptian Banking Institute’s Mohandeseen and Alexandria branch included the preparation and renovation of training halls, conferences, and computer labs, as well as the cafeteria in both branches. The Mohandeseen branch, occupying 2,080 m2, consists of three floors, comprising 15 training rooms, a meeting room, a conference room, and three laboratories. The Smouha branch, which covers 788 m2, has five training rooms, a meeting room, and a computer laboratory. The Institute had previously announced the renovation of its headquarter in Nasr City in Cairo.
"The development strategy included the upgrade of the branches’ buildings with all its departments and the introduction of new technology systems. Despite the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic, EBI managed to move forward with its strategic and thought out development plans” confirms Mr. Nossier, while adding that the institute also updated their training programs, including international programs, small and medium-sized enterprise programs, Banking and Finance, performance and management skills development, systems and information technology, as well as assessment services.
Furthermore, the Egyptian Banking Institute announced its new training plan for the training year 2020/2021 which included the training programs that will be implemented inside the institute’s headquarters, as well as remote training, for those wishing to receive the programs virtually to facilitate the educational process for trainees, taking into account the current circumstances and conditions. As part of the institute’s continuous endeavor to provide the best level of services and consolidate the relationship with its clients, the institute launched a hotline number 15200 to facilitate the trainees ’access to all information about the institute’s services and to better answer all their inquiries.
Moreover, the Egyptian Banking Institute launched the "Start your Story" campaign with EBI to raise awareness of its services and promoting various training programs available to both bankers and individuals. This comes in line with the Institute’s vision of expanding horizons creating a shift in training methodologies and solutions.

EBI was Established in 1991 by the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), as its official training arm to apply the best international practices to develop the technical and managerial skills of the banking and financial sector professionals with a vision to become the financial knowledge hub for Egypt and the surrounding region through providing integrated knowledge services for the financial sector and spreading financial literacy.
The unique blend of the Board of Directors, headed by the Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt, Mr. Tarek Amer, sets EBI in a leading position. In December 2014, EBI was re-accredited for a new term of 5 years until December 2019 and re-accredited for the third time for another 5 years term ending by 2024 for its strategic plan and continuous organizational commitment for quality training and adherence to international quality standards.
EBI masters various training areas with its edge in banking training complemented by managerial, leadership, IT training, and two specialized training units for SME and Corporate Governance.
EBI Services are not only limited to training, but its efforts are also dedicated to becoming the financial knowledge hub for Egypt and the MENA region by providing a wide range of diversified activities and services to disseminate knowledge and raise social awareness on different topics as well as offering various Assessment Tools, Consulting and Technical Assistance services.
As a community responsible institution, EBI launched Shaping the Future in 2012, a National initiative under the auspices of the Central Bank of Egypt to enhance and implement Financial Literacy and the development of Friendly Financial Products for Children and Youth in Egypt and the Middle East. In addition to recognizing the importance of youth employment, CBE launched the Training for Employment initiative in accordance with EBI to students in public universities with the aim of bridging the gap between
