Manama - Bahrain: Bahrain Tender Board has announced additional sessions to be held twice weekly for opening tenders effective July this year, a few sessions have already taken place and sessions on both Mondays and Thursdays will be held weekly to open the tenders instead of the one session that currently is held every Thursday. These additional sessions will help accelerate the entire process of opening the tenders to awarding them, prevent delays in the process of the tender work and achieve greater effectiveness and efficiency for all parties involved.
By implementing this decision, 8 additional opening sessions were held, in which the number of opened tenders reached 34 tenders with 157 bids. It is expected that the number of opening sessions will increase during the period of the decision was effective until the end of this year. The bids are opened in the presence of the Tender Board members and / or the Bids Opening Committee, a representative of the purchasing authority and the bidders. Finally, the details and results of the opened bids are provided in real – time on the ‘Live Opening’ tab on www.tenderboard.gov.bh.
This comes as part of the strategic plan the Tender Board started to implement last year that aims at completely transforming the way that the Bahrain Tender Board conducts its business, bringing it in line with global market trends and the changes that have occurred to the procurement industry.
