Water activities planned at the Village for the Adventure Surprises week

July 29, 2004, Dubai - Aiming to attract the water fanatic, the Beach Adventure Village located at the Al Mamzar Beach, will add to the spirit of adventure, fun and entertainment of the theme week organised by Dubai Police between July 29 to August 4, 2004.

Captain Juma Aruhumy, Supervisor, Beach Adventure Village, said, "The Beach Adventure Village has planned a lot of fun-filled activities for families. The idea is to cajole families  to come out of their homes to enjoy the sun, sand and sea this summer along with other like minded families and have a lot of fun.

"The beach is a hot spot for families. People in the Emirates just love going to the beach. Keeping this in mind, we have organized sea cruises with four boats that give visitors a free ride for 20 minutes. Kids can also indulge in sculpting sand castles for which tools  are available at the beach. We have also organized elementary lessons in fishing especially for children."

Captain Juma also elaborated the various activities for adults. The spread includes a huge fishing farm with dimensions of 150/200 meters containing various species of fishes. Fishing will be permitted here, and necessary fishing equipment and the material for the bait will also be provided. 

The catch will be entered into a competition, to be evaluated on its size and the weight. The 'Catch of the Day' will  receive special prizes from Dubai Police. The event comprises of many games to test the knowledge and the skills of children in sciences and cultural studies. The  60 minutes long Police K9 show will be hosted on Friday.

Captain Juma further adds, "There are many games for teens like the Soapy playground, there is also a huge pool and there is a diving competition  for  kids  in the age group of 8-11 years."

Additionally, there  is a sea food competition, where participants can cook up delicious meals to win attractive prizes. The Sea Heritage Expo, another exciting event,  will remain open from daily, showcasing exhibits pertaining to sea life, treasures hidden in the depths of the sea, stories of ocean explorers and a series of educational films on the ocean.

A huge family tent will be the spot for relaxation and activites such as face painting will keep the children occupied.  The Home for the Elderly will also host a series of special events on the occasion. Families  and youngsters will have an interactive experience as  the young and old discuss life and interact with each other.

There are no entry tickets to the Village. Food and drinks will be provided at a discounted rate. Happiness  will be personified at the Beach Adventures Village - with a promise of sun, sea and sand.
