26 June 2013, Dubai, UAE - Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach have announced the appointment of Bernd Schneider as General Manager. Bringing 32 years of extensive hospitality experience in Europe, Asia and the Middle East to his new role, Schneider will oversee the day-to-day operations of the 438-roomed luxury hotel.

Schneider joins Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach from the Magnifique Sofitel Mumbai, India where he spent three years as General Manager and led the team in the successful opening of the country's first Sofitel hotel.  Schneider's previous positions include General Manager at Sofitel Philippines Plaza, Manila, as well as Regional Delegate General Manager of the Accor, Philippines.

Born in Germany, Schneider graduated from Hotel and Catering College, Bad Woerishofen and worked throughout Germany, France, Austria and Spain in various food and beverage positions, before joining the Accor Group in 1992.

Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach is located in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), opening directly onto The Walk and features 438 elegant rooms and suites with views over the Arabian Gulf, six restaurants, bars and lounges, a sea-view infinity pool and signature CARITA Ladies Hair Salon with a treatment room next to the SoFit™ Health Club with sauna and steam room.
