Dubai: It was an evening of much excitement as shoppers at Dubai's Deira City Centre entered the 'crystal dome' in their bid to secure the coveted golden and platinum coloured paper, their ticket to winning limited edition Golden & Platinum Millionaire stamp packs.

Golden & Platinum Millionaire, launched at the mall yesterday (MONDAY), is a unique initiative by Emirates Marketing & Promotions (EMP), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Emirates Post; it offers people the chance to win great prizes with the purchase of Golden and Platinum Millionaire stamp packs valued at AED 500 and AED 1,000 respectively.

The stamp packs contain stamps that are not in circulation any longer; each series has been specially selected with the aim of showcasing the UAE's heritage, culture and environment. For example, while one may find the Desert Plants in the UAE collection in a Golden Millionaire pack, buyers of Platinum Millionaire packs could find the Environmental Protection series.

Emphasising EMP's commitment to building stronger links with the community and fostering a better understanding of the services available to the public through the postal authority, Mr. Abdulla Al Daboos, Chairman of EMP and Director General of Emirates Post, said: "The launch of Golden and Platinum Millionaire is a distinctive way of deepening our ties with the community and also providing an insight into the UAE its history, culture and environment."

Mr. Ahmed Tahlak, CEO, EMP, added that the company had tied-up with The Millionaire Co. to promote awareness of the new campaign and ensure that the public had easy access to the Golden and Platinum Millionaire stamp packs. "With a limited number of entries accepted in each draw participants will have better chances of winning," he said. Golden Millionaire draws will be held after every 2,500 registered entries and each Platinum Millionaire draw will be conducted after every 4,500 entries received.

Aldrin Fernandes, CEO, The Millionaire Co., the sole distribution and marketing agency for the campaign, said that Golden and Platinum Millionaire packs were presently available through a select partner network, which includes Alukkas, Deira City Centre, The Mall of the Emirates, among others. "Our goal is to make Golden and Platinum Millionaire available to people across the emirates," he said.

Winners in the gold series draw will receive a grand prize of AED 500,000 in gold and a Mercedes SLK. Those with winning numbers in the platinum series will win AED 2 million in cash and a Mercedes Benz S500.

Information on Golden and Platinum Millionaire is now directly available to the public through the website: www.postcardmillionaire.com/gpp. The website also enables purchase of Golden and Platinum Millionaire stamp packs and allows people the opportunity to offer their suggestions and complaints.
