Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) launched today a new promotional film for the Emirate of Sharjah, during its participation at the Arabian Travel Market 2015 being held from May 4 to 7 at the Dubai World Trade Centre.
H.E. Mohammed Ali Al Noman, Chairman of SCTDA, and H.E. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa, Director General of SCTDA, witnessed the launch of the new film at the Sharjah Pavilion in ATM 2015, in the presence of other participants within the pavilion and visitors of the Arabian Travel Market.
The promotional film highlights the main cultural and heritage attractions and other tourist destinations in the emirate. It showcases Sharjah's tourism services in an innovative way with the accompaniment of music to take the viewers on a journey through the most prominent tourism attractions of the emirate in just six minutes.
On this occasion, H.E. Khalid Jasim Al Midfa said: "The launch of the new promotional film comes as part of Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021 which aims to attract 10 million tourists by 2021. The film will contribute to promote the capabilities of the tourism sector in the emirate, and enhance its leading position as one of the most important tourist destinations in the region."
According to SCTDA, the film will play a key role during the emirate's participation in international events, exhibitions and conferences. Through its innovative presentation, the film will give a quick overview to decision-makers in the tourism sector about Sharjah's tourism sector plans to achieve Sharjah Tourism Vision 2021, and encourage more investment in this sector.
The new promotional film of the Emirate of Sharjah will soon be uploaded on sharjahmydestination.ae to provide visitors the opportunity to learn more about the beauty and charm of the emirate.
Sharjah's participation in the ATM features a huge pavilion under the umbrella of Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority with the participation of Sharjah International Airport Authority, Sharjah Environment and Protected Areas Authority, Sharjah Museums Department, Sharjah Hotels National Company, Hilton Hotel Sharjah, Radisson Blu Hotel & Resort Sharjah, MH Group of Hotels Sharjah, 72 Hues Hotel Sharjah, Centro Hotel Sharjah, Golden Tulip Hotel Sharjah, Ariana Hotel Sharjah, Royal Grand Hotel Sharjah, Sharjah Premiere Hotel, Pearl Hotel in Sharjah, Al Majaz Hotel Apartments Sharjah, Al Khalidiya Tourism and Travel Company, ArabLink Company for Tourism and Travel and Al Shaeb Village Entertainment Complex.
SCTDA is participating in the ATM for the eighteenth year, and this year's participation coincides with Sharjah's recognition by the Arab Tourism Organisation as the Arab Tourism Capital for 2015. The winning of this title has enhanced Sharjah's reputation as a favourite family tourist destination that attracts millions of visitors from around the world.
The Arabian Travel Market hosts this year more than 2,700 exhibitors comprising leading players in the travel and tourism industry. The event, which includes a series of conferences and specialised workshops, is expected to attract more than 23,000 visitors.
