Dubai, 21 February 2007 - SAP Users Group Middle East and North Africa (SUG-MENA) is holding its' annual conference in Dubai from February 26 - 28, 2007 at the Park Hyatt Hotel, Dubai. The highlights of the event include keynote addresses, technical presentations from SAP AG, presentations from customers and SAP partners and vendor demonstrations and displays. The conference is expected to be one of the biggest gatherings of SAP professionals in the region, with delegates expected from all over the Middle East and North Africa participating in the 3-day event.
SUG-MENA is a non-profit organization whose principal objective is to advance the effective usage of SAP R/3 software among users of SAP in the Middle East region. SUG-MENA will promote the sharing of experience and knowledge related to SAP. The organization will also help improve communication between the various users and SAP AG with the objective of identifying local and regional special needs of SAP users. SUG-MENA also helps networking among SAP users, partners and SAP representatives. The activities of SUG-MENA include:
- Holding conferences to discuss solutions, implementation approaches and programming techniques related to SAP
- Encouraging, providing for, and engaging in research, professional studies and other educational programmes benefiting the practices of SAP users
- Providing a forum whereby users of SAP can present/ publish their various accomplishments and solutions
- Developing special interest groups to expand local chapters
- Communicating regional requirements of SAP users to SAP AG
SUG-MENA is a customer-run independent group and its special relationship with SAP is both strategic and supportive. The benefits of this partnership are realized through product and service direction, as well as customer education and awareness.
The SUG-MENA 2007 Conference will be opened by Majed Mutairi, President of SUG-MENA and keynote speakers will include Dr. Uwe Hommel, Executive Vice President, Active Global Support, SAP AG; Michael Erhardt, SAP Product Manager - Upgrade Communication; Holger Tallowitz, Regional Support Director ME, SAP AG; and Dirk Berensmann, Member, Board of Directors, Deutsche Postbank.
