Reef Mall to offer best brands and exciting new shopping experience

The Saif Al Ghurair Group has announced the construction of a major new shopping complex in Deira in the heart of Dubai's commercial district.
 
Announcing the new development at a press conference at the Dubai Press Club on December 24,  Mr. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Managing Director of Saif Al Ghurair Group, said the region's newest shopping centre called Reef will be built at a cost of Dhs. 200 million over an area of 250,000 square feet.
 
The two-level complex  will have more than 100 stores offering a wide range of leading international and home-grown brands including fashion, food outlets, entertainment and facilities and services for the entire family. It will also offer a mix of covered and outdoor parking  for  1,000 cars.
 
Located in a fast growing commercial zone of Deira on the busy Salahuddin thoroughfare opposite the Gulf Air building, the new retail development will feature a variety of strong anchor-driven stores and provide value offerings to the mid-range customer segment.
 
The press conference was also addressed by Mr. Eisa Adam Ibrahim, Executive Manager of Saif Al Ghurair Group and Mr Manu Jeswani, Directorof the Landmark Group, which has already confirmed it would be bringing its chain of leading brands to Reef Mall including Splash, Home Centre, Baby Shop and Shoemart.  Fashion wear, perfume brands, watches, textiles, jewellery and electronics will be among the other merchandise offered at the new mall.
 
Mr. Majid Saif Al Ghurair said: "We are proud to launch this exciting retail project  that will contribute to the economic development of the Deira district of Dubai. Reef Mall will set new trends in shopping  in this part of Dubai. The new mall will fill a void for a complete modern offering for residents and tourists".
 
He added: "We are happy to have the Landmark Group joining us as a key partner at this very early stage of our unique retail project.  We are currently negotiating with more retail groups while many other leading brands have shown interest in opening their outlets in Reef".
 
Mr. Eisa Adam Ibrahim added: "Our research showed the need to construct a one-stop shopping centre offering comprehensive services that will be affordable for the mid-level customer segment in Deira. The brands that will set up shop at Reef Mall will  be available in this area of Dubai for the first time. The rich mix of tenants, facilities and quality services offered within a very supportive environment will make Reef Mall the ideal business platform for retailers and create a win-win opportunity for them to achieve strong business growth, in addition to further enhancing Dubai's position as a world-class shopping destination".  
 
The mall, which is being developed as a distinctive shopping district in Deira, will have contemporary, modern architecture, elegance and décor. New architectural designs and techniques  are  being used to create a relaxed and exciting ambience for shoppers. The façade of the mall will reflect a high level of architectural sophistication while the internal landscape will feature a mix of high glass paneling, state-of-the-art elevators, escalators and wide open spaces.
 
Cadiz International are the lead consultants of the project who are responsible for the design and architecture, Robert Mathew, Johnson - Marshall are the  local consultants while Belhasa Engineering and Contracting Company LLC are the contractors on the project. Construction work is already underway with the project  planned for completion by December 2003.
