DOHA, QATAR - 30 NOVEMBER 2011: Qatar Vinyl Company Ltd. Q.S.C. (QVC), the leading provider of vinyl and caustic products, is taking its commitment to a new height as the Bronze Sponsor of the 4th Reach Out To Asia (ROTA) Gala Dinner on Monday 12th December.

QVC's generous ROTA Gala Dinner Bronze Sponsorship is proof the company takes its corporate social responsibilities very seriously. Emphasizing the importance of behaving as a responsible company, QVC places great importance on its key values - safety, focus on employees and customers, quality of products and services, environmental compliance and giving back to the community in which it works.

"Qatar Vinyl Company is proud to contribute to ROTA's long term plans for a better future and education for all across Asia. In addition, the company's sponsorship demonstrates our support for His Highness Heir Apparent' s vision to maintain a just and caring Qatari society," said Mr. Hamad Rashed Al Nuami CEO of QVC.

"ROTA's Gala Dinner is the highlight of Qatar's social calendar and we are delighted to welcome Qatar Vinyl Company to participate in such an illustrious occasion," ROTA Board Member HE Sheikha Dr. Aisha bint Faleh Al Thani told the press conference.

An elite group of 500 VIPs, celebrities, entertainers, business leaders and statesmen from Qatar and around are expected at the Katara Cultural Village for the dazzling 4-hour ROTA Gala Dinner and Charity Auction. HRH Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, the Saudi business tycoon will be amongst our distinguished guests.

In addition, works of art from Al Koora Art Project will be displayed and put up for auction during the event.  Al Koora Art Project was developed by ROTA's Volunteer Program, an initiative focused on community service and fostering a spirit of volunteerism in Qatar.  The program coordinates initiatives with partners that achieve a positive impact for a diverse range of beneficiaries both within Qatar and in other countries.

The Al Koora Art Project engaged children with special needs from seven different institutions, namely the Dhreima Orphanage, Al Noor Institute for the Blind, Best Buddies Qatar, the Qatari Centre of Social Cultural for the Deaf, Hope Qatar, the Qatar Society for Rehabilitation of Special Needs, and the Qatar Paralympic Rehabilitation of Special Needs, to participate in a series of art workshops held at the Virginia Commonwealth University in Qatar (VCUQ).

Along with VCUQ students, aspiring Qatari artists and volunteers, the children created works of art that represented different elements of Qatar, its people, and its natural environment, in the past, present and future. The theme was reflected through artistic expression such as painting, drawing, and poetry.

Funds raised during the Gala Dinner will enable ROTA to continue educational and community projects in Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Palestine, Lebanon and Syria

In Qatar, ROTA achievements over past two years were made possible by the support of the corporate donors. These achievements include the Wheels 'n' Heels community event in 2010 which is coming back in February 2012, 300 volunteers participating in two Make a Difference Days, launching 22 ROTA Youth Service Clubs, over 750 youth taking part in three ROTA Empower national youth forums, welcoming 650 students to iEARN-Qatar Open House events, enrolling more than 700 teachers as members of the ROTA Knowledge Network, and launching new 7 projects..

"In towns and villages across Asia there are still far too many young people who are poor; not because they do not want to work, not because they lack intelligence, not because they lack ambition. They are poor because they are deprived of educational opportunities that are freely available to children in more prosperous countries," added H.E. Sheikha Dr. Aisha.

"We are thrilled to be able to host our 4th Gala Dinner with the support of Bronze Sponsor Qatar Vinyl Company. The funds raised at this glittering event will enable ROTA to continue our vital education development programs during 2012 and beyond," said ROTA Director Mr. Essa Al-Mannai.

The 4th ROTA Gala Dinner takes place at Katara Cultural Village on Monday 12th December.
