Cairo: Commencing with a red-carpet ribbon cutting ceremony followed by an entertainment filled evening, PAUL Bakery & Restaurant - run by Azadea the main franchise operator in the region - celebrates its grand opening in Downtown Mall Katameya today in the presence of French diplomats, prominent Egyptian businessmen, representatives of the French community and media representatives.

The Grand Opening welcomed Mr. Bernard Regnauld Fabre General Counsel of France in Egypt, Monsieur Dominique Mauppin, Chief Commercial Counselor Ubifrance Egypt, Monsieur Maxime Holder, CEO of the Groupe PAUL, Mr. Wassim Daher, Chairman and Founder of Azadea LLC and Mr. Esam Hafez, Country Manager of Azadea Egypt, marking the introduction of the eagerly awaited French bakery and restaurant.

With the attendance of approximately 150 guests, PAUL hosts a memorable French-themed entertainment evening, featuring musicians performing classic French songs and a caricaturist to draw guests, reminiscent of the well-known Parisian art scene. Also, not to be missed at such an event is the VIP red-carpet photo backdrop with the PAUL logo for guest photos, which they are to receive later and a wall for guest signatures.

The Grand Opening also showcases an extensive bread sampling display prepared by PAUL's highly skilled master bakers to introduce its traditional hand-crafted bread.

"PAUL's grand opening reflects our confidence in the Egyptian market and our commitment to an expansion in the future, with our third branch expected before the end of this year at Mall of Arabia in 6th of October City and a fourth branch opening in Mohandessin in 2012.  With our unique concept and unrivalled experience, PAUL is a refreshing - and what we believe - a very welcomed addition to the Cairo restaurant scene," said Christian Salloum, Brand Manager of PAUL Middle East.

PAUL provides a wide selection of its French breads, gourmet pastries, salads, sandwiches and main courses all set in a rustic-chic interior, bringing a little taste of France to the Egyptian market.

PAUL's success story dates back to its start as a humble bakery in northern France over 120 years ago. The enormous respect for tradition and the use of the finest quality ingredients have made PAUL what it is today, a family-run business with over 450 shops worldwide.

Egypt's two newest branches are the latest addition to PAUL's 30 branches across seven countries in the Middle East and North Africa including Jordon, UAE, Kuwait, Bahrain, Lebanon and Qatar.
