New generation WORKiO offers complete networkable document solutions
Panasonic, the leading global brand in consumer electronics, telecommunications and Office Automation, recently announced that it would be demonstrating the capabilities of its WORKiO range of digital imaging systems at GITEX Dubai 2002, including the latest additions to the line up, the DP-6010, DP-4510 and DP-3510.
Representing a breakthrough in digital / paper document integration, the first generation of WORKiO Digital Imaging Systems combined communication, file management, storage input & output in a single easy to operate system. The new generation WORKiO comes with network capability built in. When connected to the corporate backbone network, the Workio 6010/4510/3510 can handle all the scanning, printing, faxing & emailing requirements of every user in the office. The WORKiO is a multi-purpose office machine, which incorporates a digital copier, an A3 scanner and a network laser printer, along with a high-speed fax, transmit to email and Internet fax. It comes with document management software that facilitates electronic archiving. The WORKiO range extends from 15 outputs per minute to 60 outputs per minute, thereby providing the complete solution for every office’s document processing needs. For example, the WORKiO DP-6010’s user-friendly design makes even complicated operations simple. In copy mode, the large VGA (640 x 240 pixels) LCD display shows the original image and the final output. The unit sends a completion notice when the copy/print job is finished.
“The new WORKiO DP-6010/4510/3510 is a series of new generation office companions that is based on the feedback received from the market. It is designed to meet the requirements of any office environment and can be expanded on demand to speed up day to day office jobs,” said Shigeru Uno, GM, Systems Products, Panasonic Marketing Middle East. “The network capability is built in, the scanner and document management system enables electronic archiving of scanned documents, which in turn can be edited and shared with everyone connected to the network. The ‘Send to E-mail’ function instantly converts paper documents into digital information. In short, it is like building the office of the future”.
“There is a growing market for digital imaging systems in the Middle East region, and Panasonic plans to double its regional sales by 2004 to cater to the demand,” added Uno. “The WORKiO line up provides the user with a wide array of document solutions & lower cost of ownership, thus ensuring a very high level of efficiency & cost savings.”
The top of the line WORKiO DP-6010 model displayed at GITEX Dubai 2002 is ideal for larger assignments, with a capacity of 60 outputs per minute. Adequate paper supply is ensured with one 1,500-sheet paper tray, another of 550 sheets & a 50-sheet bypass tray. Total paper capacity can be upgraded to a phenomenal 6,250 sheets. The unit can accept any paper from 55gsm to 133gsm. Using an optional kit, 2 units of DP-6010 can be combined in tandem to work at a phenomenal 120 outputs per minute
With WORKiO, any paper or handwritten data can be converted into digital data that can be viewed or edited on any PC in the office local area network. The digital technology of the WORKiO series offers other useful functions such as the 2-in-1 mode and a digital sky shot function that enables the lip to be kept open while copying books. Other features include electronic sorting, auto image rotation and 25 ~ 400% zoom. The new Workio range will soon be available in selected countries in the Middle East.
