12,000 Emirati job seekers to descend on career fair over next three days
Abu Dhabi, 1 February, 2015
Thousands of Emirati job seekers will be passing through the halls of the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre starting today (Monday 2 February), as many of the UAE's leading organisations, both public and private, collectively have over 7500 jobs on offer during the three day career fair.
Mohammed Al Qaisi, a 22 year old UAE national and recent graduate, visited Tawdheef on its opening day last year to meet government, semi-government and private institutions. He said: "There are so many exciting career opportunities - whether they are in the public or private sector. Most of the exhibitors have been very informative explaining their openings to me."
A number of leading UAE companies will be present at the fair covering a wide variety of industry verticals including Abu Dhabi Terminals, Mubadala Development Company, Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, HSBC Bank Middle East Limited, Schlumberger, Emirates Nationals Development Programme and New York University Abu Dhabi among others.
"We had over 12,000 UAE National job-seekers attend Tawdheef in 2014, and the feedback that we received from employers at the show is that they wanted to take this unique opportunity to spend more quality time assessing Emirati job applicants on-site, so that they can make the best recruitment decisions in line with their Emiratisation policies. The fact that we have over 7500 jobs on offer this year cements this testament perfectly." said Hayete Jemai, Exhibition Director of Tawdheef.
"We will also be integrating the HR Emiratisation Summit into the show this year, and will be running the sessions directly from the show floor. Emiratisation pioneers and advocates will be addressing the challenges facing the industry in real-life case studies, interactive panel discussions and roundtables." added Jemai.
Mubadala Development Company (Mubadala), the Abu Dhabi-based strategic investment and development company, and a number of its subsidiaries including Al Taif Technical Services, Strata, the Advanced Military Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Company (AMMROC), Emirates LNG, Yahsat, Injazat Data Systems, Abu Dhabi Ship Building (ADSB) and Masdar are participating in Tawdheef as the company continues to offer unique development and training opportunities for UAE Nationals across exciting fields in dynamic organizations.
Khaled Abdulla Al Qubaisi, Chief Human Capital Officer at Mubadala Group, said: "Mubadala is committed to nurturing talent in order to accelerate the UAE's journey to global competitiveness. Since our formation, we have created over 15,000 jobs in the UAE and will continue to support long-term career development while also developing opportunities for the next generation in cutting-edge industries.
Participating in recruitment events like Tawdheef provides us with an important opportunity to engage with young talent and continue our pursuit to be amongst the UAE's preferred employers."
Bayt.com are once again bringing back the ever popular Career clinic to the show, whereby visiting Emiratis can improve their CV writing skills, one of the challenges anyone faces while looking for a job.
"Bayt.com is very excited to be the Strategic Career Partner with Tawdheef yet again," said Suhail Masri, VP of Sales at Bayt.com, "The 7,500 jobs at Tawdheef are a testament to how the UAE has always been a very active market with some of the highest number of job listings in the region as Bayt.com can attest to, given we have catered to the special needs of the local job market across industries and career levels since 2000, with thousands of local jobs for top employers advertised daily on our career portal which we will be training professionals to optimally access during the fair."
Now in its ninth year, Tawdheef boasts an exhibitor profile lineup covering a vast range of government and private organisations from sectors including finance, recruitment, oil and gas, retail, telecommunications, IT, media, transport and logistics, industrial and manufacturing, investment, defense and security, and health and insurance.
The three-day event is held under the patronage of H.E. Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development and supported by Titanium sponsor GHQ Armed Forces, Platinum Sponsors National Bank of Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, SENAAT - General Holding Corporation, Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Gold Sponsors Abu Dhabi National Oil Company, Department of Municipal Affairs, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority, Abu Dhabi Media Company and Higher Corporation for Specialized Economic Zones (ZonesCorp) all of which will have current job openings and long-term career opportunities to offer Emiratis.
