as BLU wins the global award for best PET bottle
Dubai, UAE - BLU, the new sparkling water by Oasis, was engineered to "Start something, spark life" from the moment it was launched into the UAE market. Blu, is the latest product extension of the Oasis Water Company. The bottle's revolutionary design concept was presented with the most prestigious global award in water packaging, the 'Best PET Bottle Design' at the 2nd Global Bottled Water Congress. The conference which debuted in Evian-les-Bains, France, last year, was recently held at the iconic Burj Al Arab in Dubai. The conference was founded by the leading European drinks consultancy, Zenith International, to recognise creativity and innovation in the global bottled water industry. Over 113 entries from 24 countries made this a truly international competition.
"This year the quality of entrants has been exceptionally high. The competition demonstrates the ability of this industry to reach consumers in new and exciting ways using excellence in design and marketing" concluded Bill Bruce Managing Editor, Zenith International Publishing, one of the judges on the panel.
Contending for the title, BLU's tear-drop shaped pale blue bottle defeated Ouro Fino of Brazil and Zagori from Chitos of Greece, the other finalists in the PET category.
"The Oasis team is honoured and proud, to accept the award for 'Best PET Bottle Design'", commenting after the ceremony Mr. Ajit Singh, Marketing Manager, Oasis Water Company, said "Though Blu's aesthetic qualities are undeniably apparent, the award also takes into consideration the engineering feat that was required to achieve its unique form. The bottle, is available in all major outlets across the UAE, was deemed impossible to achieve by leading international consultants and packaging suppliers. Its birth was a milestone in engineering for the water and plastics industry. The new bottle shape allows Blu to retain an optimum carbonation level for a longer period of time, hence ensuring customer satisfaction at the time of consumption.
