Equipped with 1280 Pins, 3.2Gbps Speed, 16 Analog Channels and Source Synchronous Timing, the EXA3000 Incorporates NPTest ITS9000ZX Capabilities into Versatile Mixed Signal Platform
SAN JOSE, Calif. - NPTest, a wholly owned subsidiary of Schlumberger Limited formerly known as Schlumberger Semiconductor Solutions, announced availability of the high performance option for the EXA3000 SOC test system that expands test capabilities to 1280 pins, 3.2 Gbps speed and 16 analog channels. The EXA3000 platform now supports all the advanced features of the NPTest ITS9000ZX high speed digital test system as well as recently announced analog and digital enhancements. The option provides a powerful SOC test system specifically targeting the test needs of next generation chipsets, microprocessors and graphics ICs.
Emerging in the latest PCs and rapidly growing gaming applications, these processors and chipsets are driving high performance test requirements into volume production. Tomorrow's SOCs integrate more functionality on a single chip with chipsets already over 500 pins, well beyond the capability of the standard SOC tester. Processors preparing for production ramps use multiple buses with complex timing such as HyperTransport technology, DDR II and AGP4 protocols and data rates up to 3.2Gbps. The EXA3000 option provides the source synchronous timing architecture and true differential pin electronics to test multiple buses on the same device in a flexible, modular format.
"Technology advances, including 0.13um processes, are enabling high speed bus protocols and increasingly integrated functionality on next generation SOCs," stated Doug Cutsforth, product marketing director, NPTest. "As complex, high performance devices move into the mainstream, semiconductor companies need a production-ready test platform that supports high data rates and multiple time domains with the configuration flexibility, accuracy, throughput and yield to provide low cost of test. The EXA3000 is the ideal production level system for a growing number of devices."
While doubling the maximum pin count of today's standard SOC test platform, the EXA3000 remains the flexible, reliable production platform that combines scalable performance with low cost of test. For device speeds from 400MHz to 3.2Gbps, the EXA3000 system provides the stability absolutely necessary for a production platform as well as powerful analog and digital production test capabilities for the escalating performance of SOC devices.
